QuickAlerts – Technical Update: IRIS TY2023 A2A Schema and Business Rules Now Accessible
Greetings to all Software Developers and Information Return Transmitters,
We are pleased to announce that the Tax Year 2023 Information Returns Intake System (IRIS) schema and business rules are now accessible. You can obtain these through the SOR mailbox.
If you are a Software Developer or part of a State organization, it’s now possible to download the IRIS schemas and business rules directly from your e-Services mailbox. However, to access these files, you must meet the following criteria:
– You must have an active e-Services account
– Your IRIS TCC application status should be “Completed”
– Your IRIS TCC status should be “Active”
– You must hold an IRIS role of “Software Developer” or have a business structure of “State Government Agency”, “Local Government Agency”, or “Federal Government Agency”

IRIS Assurance Testing System (ATS) Scenarios for Tax Year 2023
We have also posted the IRIS Assurance Testing System (ATS) scenarios for Tax Year 2023 on irs.gov. You can find them at Tax Year 2023 IRIS ATS.
Recent and Upcoming IRIS Schema Distributions
The most recent IRIS Schema Distribution was added on 11/13/2023. The next IRIS Schema distribution is tentatively planned for 12/28/2023.
Please note that you may have several messages in your account. We encourage you to open all of them to find the set you would like to download. After 60 days, these messages will be purged.
